Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow. Date a Girl Who Reads, Rosemaire Urquico
Beauty is nothing, beauty won’t stay. You don’t know how lucky you are to be ugly, because if people like you, you know it’s for something else. - Charles Bukowski
Black is not sad. Bright colors are what depresses me. They’re so … empty. Black is poetic. How do you imagine a poet? In a bright yellow jacket? Probably not. - Ann Demeulemeester
9The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world. And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause of happiness in others. - William Phelps

In relation to the poetry posts, there is this Icelandic word skúffuskáld, which means someone who’s secretly a poet. It literally means “drawer poet”, someone who writes poetry but chugs it all into his desk drawer instead of showing it to people.
If you’ve been up all night and cried till you have no more tears left in you - you will know that there comes in the end a sort of quietness. You feel as if nothing was ever going to happen again. - C.S. Lewis, The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe

Some people are meant to fall in love with each other, but not meant to be together. - (500) Days of Summer

So, now I shall talk every night. To myself. To the moon… I talk to myself and look at the dark trees, blessedly neutral. So much easier than facing people, than having to look happy, invulnerable, clever. With masks down, I walk, talking to the moon, to the neutral impersonal force that does not hear, but merely accepts my being. And does not smite me down. - Sylvia Plath

Loneliness adds beauty to life. It puts a special burn on sunsets and makes night air smell better. - Henry Rollins

I fell asleep, slipping into the kind of dreams that aren’t dreams at all — just memories with all the details you never thought you’d remember and couldn’t believe you’d forgotten. - Paige Harbison
I am sitting on my bed staring out the open window, as I often do, and every time the wind blows it carries with it the most enchanting scent… The smell of rain-kissed earth, of lilacs, of newborn leaves, of flower petals of all kinds, of serenity, of you… This is spring in all her glory. - Linaeve

For you, I was a chapter. For me, you were the book. — Tom Mcneal

I wish I could write. I get these ideas but I never seem to be able to put them in words. - The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald

The world has enough beautiful mountains and meadows, spectacular skies and serene lakes. It has enough lush forests, flowered fields and sandy beaches. It has plenty of stars and the promise of a new sunrise and sunset every day. What the world needs more of is people to appreciate and enjoy it. Michael Josephson

I think and think and think, I‘ve thought myself out of happiness one million times, but never once into it. - Jonathan Safran Foer

I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart. - Anne Frank

Reality depresses me. I need to find fantasy worlds and escape in them. - Noel Fielding

I am a dreamer. I know so little of real life that I just can’t help reliving such moments as these in my dreams, for such moments are something I have very rarely experienced. I am going to dream about you the whole night, the whole week, the whole year. I feel I know you so well that I couldn’t have known you better if we’d been friends for twenty years. You won’t fail me, will you? Only two minutes, and you’ve made me happy forever. Yes, happy. Who knows, perhaps you’ve reconciled me with myself, resolved all my doubts.Fyodor Dostoevsky, White Nights

I will remember your small room, the feel of you, the light in the window, your records, your books, our morning coffee, our noons, our nights, our bodies spilled together, sleeping, the tiny flowing currents, immediate and forever. Your leg, my leg, your arm, my arm, your smile and the warmth of you who made me laugh again.  - Charles Bukowski
